Election Night USA

On Tuesday, 3 November at 11 pm, join Università della Svizzera italiana for a night dedicated to the 2026 U.S. midterm elections.

Who will control Congress? What will the results mean for the second half of Donald Trump’s presidency... and for the rest of the world? With control of the House of Representatives and the Senate at stake, these elections will shape the direction of American politics over the next two years.

The evening will begin with an introduction by Prof. Jean-Patrick Villeneuve and short contributions from invited speakers, exploring the electoral system, the key races to watch and the possible outcomes.

We will then follow CNN’s election night coverage live, discussing the results and their implications as they unfold. Join us for an evening of analysis, conversation and shared suspense - until the political picture becomes clearer, or the sun comes up.

The event will be held in English and is open to the entire USI community, as well as friends and students from other universities.
